Critical changes in sea levels could translate into big changes in our environment, our economy and our quality of life here in Maine. The Scarborough Conservation Commission is hosting a timely and important presenation next week at the Scarborough Library. It's called "Potential Impacts of Sea Level Rise in Scarborough & Saco Bay", and it will be presented by Peter Slovinsky, SCC Member and Marine Geologist at the Maine Geological Survey. We hope to see you for this talk at the Library next Tuesday, January 18th, from 7:00 to 8:00pm. There is no charge for admission. For more information on local sea levels, take a look at Mr. Slovinsky's analysis of this issue, as well as a series of important reports on climate change from the Climate Change Insitute at the University of Maine.
